i think that when all is said and done - telling someone that you hope they're happy with someone else is one of the hardest things to do.

you can mean it from the top of your head to the soles of your feet.

but it still aches.

you can still hear the echoes of something that was there.

but you're happy at what might seem like your own plight.

within the first 10 seconds of seeing him, i was instantly reminded why he's my best friend.

i know i know.
it's after 2 AM and i'm still awake.
so sue me.

i get my letter today.
in a short 6 hours i could walk into that office and discover my fate right then.
but chances are, i'll wait until i shuffle down that long hill and get inside my house before i even crack the seal.
i don't think i would be good at those brimhall stairs if it were to be good or bad news.

i've never been so nervous in my whole life.
maybe that's an exaggeration, but my nerves are already setting in and the keys just flow under my fingers so nicely right now.

i should be finishing my french homework.
reading my scriptures.
sleeping.

but itunes plays in my ears
and fails in drowning out my heartbeat.

i'm ready for this.

up until about a week ago i had this thing about my hair.
i tried to win arguments with it.
attract attention.
enter it in pageants for lots of cash money and prizes.
you know...
the usual.

now let's look at the logistics of this whole thing.
hair isn't alive.
it has no feelings.
it just grows outta your head.

sure there's a gazillion dollar industry based around having fabulous hair, but in the end...it's just protein.

and while it's true my hair takes a while to grow
and that i'm pretty bad at doing hair (especially hair that can't be put into a ponytail).

the fact is: long hair=hot and heavy. (and not even in the good "hot-n-heavy" way.)

so i hacked it.
(well i didn't hack it, a nice girl named heather did.)
and i feel so relieved about it.
i let go of something that i was attached to.

no more hiding.
but in all honesty...
my hair could still totally kick your hair's butt.

i've been reading the giver.
well actually, i read the giver.
(it's a real short book when your reading speed has increased since you read it last.)
but.
there's a part where jonas asks his parents if they love him.
and he is immediately punished for not using "precise" language.
his parents claim that love is too broad of a term...that it's become obsolete in their perfect world.

i don't think love is too broad or too specific, but maybe it's overused in this far from perfect world.

every taylor swift song throws the word "love" around like a big, bouncy ball.
(if love were as easy as showing someone a piece of paper or wearing a fancy dress, taylor, then i'm pretty sure you'd be out of a job.)

i don't want to come across as jaded or bitter about this.
i know that love exists and that it's real, but i'm just bored with the whole unified representation of it.

that it has to be easy.
that it always works.
that it makes sense.

because i don't know love like that.
