uh...what?

pardon my french (and this random blogging rant), but i would like to take a minute to say...
what the hull?
(it's a kelly-shoes reference. google it.)

was i asleep/seizing when it became cool to look like this?
i know that this he/she is in a band, but that is no excuse.

someone get this person some eye makeup remover STAT!

the end.

what did the fish say when he ran into a brick wall?

DAM! haha. all the 3rd graders love that one.

okay.
so i think with that 6 quirky things thing (from the previous post), you tag 6 people?
too bad i'm not going to.
if you want to talk about how quirky you are...
then do.
i'll probably read it.

tonight was music night.
it was a success.
i'll post some pictures (or pitchers if you are my dear mom) later.

and for those of you who don't know what music night is...
shame.
on.
you.

six.

six quirky things about me.
does quirky really just mean weird?
probably.

one. i hardly ever wear socks unless i have to. i hate the feeling of fuzzy socks against my feet. i really don't know why, but it creeps me out. if my feet are so cold that i can't stand it, i will either get a blanket or put on these really thin socks that aren't fuzzy, but that's rare.
two. i eat smarties and m&m's in even numbers so there are 2 (or 3, depending on how much i'm eating)little candies on each side of my mouth. i eat gobbstoppers and skittles in colors and patterns. (i.e. 2 purple and a yellow with the yellow in the middle of the purples to make a pretty pattern. in this case, i will eat three things, but only because of the pattern rule.) if i am left with one little candy baby sitting in my palm, i will split it in half in my mouth and chew a half on each side.
three. i have a certain way of brushing my teeth that has made every roommate i've had so far laugh when they hear. i think i learned the technique from watching my dad brush his teeth when i was little, but maybe i made that memory up to sound more whimsical. i really don't know how to explain it except that it's a suck and spit combo, but really fast.
four. i never let my fingernails get very long. this is partly because my nails are jacked up and will never grow evenly and also because i just don't like them...on me. sausage fingers with long nails still equals sausage fingers. there's no changing that. nope nope nope.
five. i refuse to say balls. no matter what it pertains to. i just won't. ever. unless of course it was an answer to a question on a game show that resulted in me winning lots o' money.
six. i will often wear my fleece blanket like a cape or a toga. i honestly don't even know why i do this, but it might be because it keeps the blanket from falling off of me while i'm doing other things.

oh!

if you are looking for pictures of that sweet little babykins that you saw earlier on this blog, try my other blog.

10.18.2008

corn.

so this blog is going to a bit on the picture heavy side because i've been faithfully dedicated to documenting this year. or at least this week.

you might want to take a bathroom break or a snack break.
this could take a while, folks.

CORNBELLY'S ADVENTURE!
i must say that i was apprehensive to give some stranger $10.50 to let me get lost in david archuleta's face, but in the long run...i think it was worth it.

this is the group as farm animals. leave it to emy to be the cool one.

who can resist a large rocking chair?
that's right. no one.

let's do a personal introduction to everyone involved in this adventure.

this is emy. she's half asian, but we don't hold that against her.

this is stephen. he loves emy and you can see his uvula in this picture.

this is kenzie. she was upset about the lack of princesses present.

this is selena. she's cute always and let us listen to her ipod on the way there.

always gotta take advantage of signs featuring corn wearing overalls.

oh yeah! and there were pumpkins carved like utah's celebrities.

they almost got us kicked out of the maze for being too cute.

this is when we got out of the maze. emy was feeling victorious.

...as were kenzie and i.

after the maze...

kenzie rode in a train with corn on the floor.

some of us sat in a pumpkin shaped carriage.

i ate a corn dog too.
it was kind of weird.

overall review

hitch-hiker thumbs way up for corn mazes and gordon b. hinckley pumpkins.

babies everywhere.

please welcome cooper creighton denslow to my blog.

my newest nephew is so adorable.
and i'm not even biased.
because any baby that can look so cute via a cell phone picture is a winner in my book.

he's already got the two main baby emotions down:

sad baby.

utterly adorable, happy baby.

shy.

silly.

cooper and his siblings...

oldest brother, mckay!

oldest sister, ashley!

don't you just want to snuggle him?
it's okay to admit it.
(i'll post more pictures later when i actually get to see him.)

10.14.2008

losing sleep

more pictures from my camera.
these are more recent.
neat.

once upon a time i went to sego.

roommates. sego. love.

orange. princess. asian. sounds like an alcoholic drink.

steve died at sego. emy was obviously very torn up about it, but he was indie 'til the end.

sometimes andrea seduces me with her eyes.

she won me over with this face.

another google image search. "halloween costumes"

potential costume.
disregard the monkey part.
i'm gonna be a baby.

song of the week:
"colly strings" - manchester orchestra
you're the reason i love losing sleep.

cornbread and chili.

i just took a personality test.

side note:

A CAPELLA U2? REALLY?!?!?
when i figure out who this group is, i'm punching the tenor in the throat.
the beat box boys can stay.

10.10.2008

old skool.

ahem.
remember how i was in north ogden alllllllll summer and never pictorially documented it on this blog?
yeah. i do.
aside from certain things that kept me from picture taking...
i HATE my point-and-shoot.
BUT!
the three pictures i did take on that piece o' junk shouldn't be left to fall by the wayside!
so...here you go.
NATALIE'S NITE OUT WITH THE GIRLS FROM WORK.
(i chose to spell it "nite" because it reminds me of nick-at-nite. rip.)
this is sara. aside from tayler (who you'll get to meet later, you lucky dog you), sara made work worth getting up for. and apparently she gets REALLY bad red eye in photos. thank you picasa.

this is the MOST awkward picture i've ever had the privilege of taking. it's just melissa (manager) and my fellow employee ashley doing the robot...while galactic bowling. don't worry 'bout it.

this is merilee, tayler and sara. my faves.
and yes...they are all wearing something from the store we worked at.
how sweet.

weird experience of the week:
minty pickles from sensuous sandwiches on center street. probably unintentional...but hey. you only live once. and you only eat at sensuous sandwiches twice.

10.08.2008

excuse me, sir.

pardon me for being vague, but just deal.
i'll get back to my silly lists and vain attempts at being hilarious later.

it's getting colder outside.
i'll feel whole when i can see the white cloud of breath in front of my face.
i plug my ears with pink tips to make the plodding steps seem faster and i tap keys and compile words to make the minutes go quicker, but i can erase and erase and erase erase erase erase erase erase and never forget.
the cloud goes away in the summer, but you.
you defy seasons.
i'll feel whole when i can leave this all behind...
too bad it's getting colder outside.

things i'm looking forward to:
-loving on miss love for one last semester.
-snow pictures.
-watching this at least 3 more times.
-the apple beer i put in the fridge so it'd be chilly in the morning. in fact...i might go drink it now.

10.06.2008

the best of both worlds? doubt it.

sunday, october 6th, 1:03 AM
me: "ooo! it's cold mountain." (referring to the movie that just came on our tv.)
roommate who shall remain nameless because we protect the ignorant in natalie-ville: "i know. it's freezing in here."

it's probably my bedtime because i find that so funny.

this week's goal on natalie's road to self-improvement:
be nicer to people.

i called miley cyrus an idiot in front of my 6 year-old niece (because she wants to be hannah montana for halloween) and my mom chastised me.
i also came to realize how awkward it is to threaten a pregnant woman that you will "punch her in the baby maker." (relax kids, it was my sister. and she was all for it...hoping that it would induce labor.)
i love my family.

10.01.2008

hey mama. welcome to the sixties.

i've been without my very best friend for one year.
he's just in canada.
having a party with his nametag and suit all day, everyday.

it's weird how life can magically fill in the gaps that you thought would never close up. (isn't this a song already?) not that i thought i would die or anything, but new people have come and gone to fill this "gap." interesting.
life is cool like that.

i've discovered this week that i really dislike when people don't say goodbye when they leave (whether an internet convo or in person), but as i'm writing this down i'm thinking..."do i say goodbye like i should?" i probably don't.
dang.
sorry if you've been affected by my rudeness.

today i spent at least a solid hour and a half playing party games. you know the ones where you have to guess the pattern of the items you can bring to the party? (i.e. person 1: "i'm throwing a party and i'm going to bring an Apple." person 2: "can i bring a Bear to your party?" person 1: "yes you may." etc etc etc) it was wonderful how much enjoyment i got from such a simple concept. the eras before computers movies and ipods, sure knew how to party. and that isn't even the least bit sarcastic.

i have some pictures to put up on my picture blog. if anyone's out there, can you remind me to post them soon? i'll forget it you don't. and you don't want to miss out on ANYTHING i post.
in fact, you should be taking notes on what i say. i expect a 10-page paper on my methodologies ASAP. 12 pt. font, times new roman, single spaced.

ready?
go.
